Ocarina of Time Walkthrough: Story Order at a Glance

1. Kokiri Forest: get the Kokiri Sword and Deku Shield, then enter the Deku Tree.
2. Inside the Deku Tree: defeat Queen Gohma for the Kokiri’s Emerald.
3. Hyrule Castle: sneak in to meet Zelda and learn Zelda’s Lullaby.
4. Kakariko Village and Death Mountain: help the Gorons, clear Dodongo’s Cavern for the Goron’s Ruby.
5. Zora’s Domain: find Ruto’s Letter at Lake Hylia, clear Jabu-Jabu’s Belly for the Zora’s Sapphire.
6. Temple of Time: catch the Ocarina of Time, learn the Song of Time and pull the Master Sword.

7. Forest Temple: learn Minuet of Forest from Sheik, then wake Saria.
8. Fire Temple: wear the Goron Tunic and free the Gorons, then wake Darunia.
9. Ice Cavern and Water Temple: get the Iron Boots and Zora Tunic, then wake Ruto.
10. Bottom of the Well (child) and Shadow Temple: get the Lens of Truth, then wake Impa.
11. Gerudo Fortress and Spirit Temple: free the carpenters, cross the Haunted Wasteland, then play the temple as child and adult to wake Nabooru.
12. Ganon’s Castle: get the Light Arrows from Zelda, clear the six trials and face Ganondorf.
